Janet Hackler

June 21, 1937 — August 7, 2011

Janet Crossett Hackler, age 74, was born June 21, 1937 at Caddo, OK, the daughter of Guy Granville Crossett and Francis Finley Robertson. She graduated from McAlester High School in 1955, later attending East Central State College at Ada, OK. Janet was married to Gene Hackler on April 13, 1957, which later ended in divorce. Janet worked in accounting at several auto dealerships in Ada, McAlister, and Bartlesville. She was later a partner in Hackler Funeral Home in Cushing as well as a partner in the dress shop, Pats Of Course, also in Cushing, OK. Janet last worked at OSU in the department of High School and College Relations until her retirement in 2006. She was an avid sports fan and card player. She was also a member of the Order of The Eastern Star. Janet passed from this life early Sunday morning, August 7, 2011, at Grace Living Center after a courageous five year battle with cancer. Janet was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Daisella Vann. She is survived by her children, Lynne Buskirk and her husband David and their children, Brandon and Kendall of Edmond, OK; Mark Hackler and his wife Erin of Oklahoma City, OK; Leslie Pierce and her husband Les and their children, Taylor and Garrett of Stillwater, OK; Matt Hackler and his wife Jodi and their children, Bailey, Brittney, Mason, and Maxwell of Bixby, OK; one sister, Sue Shephard of Louisiana and her children Scott Simpson and Susan Patton. A celebration of Janets life will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Palmer Marler Chapel in Stillwater, OK at 5:00 pm.
