Jeffrey Lee Hartung, Enid, Oklahoma, a long-time employee of Noble County, passed from this life July 28, 2022, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City.
Dighton Marler Funeral Home, Perry, has been entrusted with his funeral arrangements.
Jeffrey was born January 3, 1960, in Perry, Oklahoma, the son of Lewis and Claudette (Nation) Hartung. He grew up in Sapulpa, graduating from Sapulpa High School in 1978. After graduation, he went to work as a diesel mechanic and after a while moved to Perry and began work for Noble County District One until he retired in January 2019.
He and the former Shirley Prince were married on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1987, at the First Christian Church of Perry. He is the father of two sons, Jesse Hartung and the late Eric Hartung. He enjoyed being with his children, loved coon hunting and playing the guitar, and driving around in his truck with his dog Panda. He also enjoyed Big Foot stories and John Deere Tractors. Jeffrey had a great sense of humor and liked to make people laugh.
In addition to his wife Shirley, he was preceded in death by one son, Eric Hartung; his mother, Claudette; grandparents: Claude and Nadine Nation and Marie Hartung; aunt, Shirley Benefield; and cousin, Bonny Payne.
He is survived by one son, Jesse Hartung, Enid; his father, Lewis Hartung: one sister, Linda Hartung, Sapulpa; brothers and sisters in law: Warren Frank Price Jr. and Stephen Prince, both of Billings, Brenda Kaminskas of Enid, Nina and Steve Long of Billings and Sheryl Prince of Blackwell; his aunt Mary Shireman and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be 2:00PM to 6:00PM Sunday August 7, 2022, at Dighton Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Perry. Funeral service will be held 2:00PM, Monday, August 8, 2022, at the First Christian Church in Perry. Reverend Josh Bell will officiate.
