Jerry G. Sparkman

October 30, 1938 — December 9, 2022

Rev. Jerry Sparkman went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, December 9, 2022 in Stillwater at the age of 84. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.

Jerry was born October 30, 1938, one of seven children, in Cushing, Oklahoma to Cecil and Dorothy (Pack) Sparkman. He attended Cushing schools before obtaining his GED and joining the United States Air Force. Spending the next twenty years of active duty serving his country, Jerry worked in fuel system maintenance as a forman. He was stationed in several states and France over the years during his military service. After being honorably discharged, Jerry worked several years as a building engineer for OSU.

Jerry and Marilyn Sprague were married July 7, 1956 in Cushing and were blessed with 62 years until Marilyn’s passing in 2018. Jerry enjoyed fishing, telling stories, watching Gunsmoke and other hallmark westerns, and playing tanks on the computer with Marilyn in later years. He was also a very talented musician. Jerry loved the Lord and was very devoted in his faith. Being called to preach at a young age, he and Marilyn would travel the country evangelizing at different churches and pastoring at two. One in Vinco and one in Perkins sharing the good news of Jesus Christ! He faith is now complete, and he rests in the divine presence of his Heavenly Father.
