Jerry Lynn Lightfoot passed peacefully in his home just outside of Perkins OK on December 15th, 2022, at the age of 63. He was surrounded by his kids, his loving girlfriend, ever loyal dog, Dozer and one of his favorite nurses. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
Jerry was born in Orange County, California on February 10th, 1959, to Jack and Hazel Lightfoot. He was the baby, with three older brothers, Jack, Dave, and Ron. The family moved from California to Oklahoma, where they resided in the town of Tryon in 1966.
In high school he fell in love with and married Paula Renee´ Jones in 1977. She gifted him with his three boys, Brian, Buck, and Adam, who then gifted them with innumerable amounts of inner patience. In 1998 Jerry married his second wife, Connie Sue Knaus who brought him his two girls, Paige, and Carolyn. In all the stages of his life, his love for his children never wavered. They were his greatest joy. His final love, Sally, stood by his side the final years of his life, caring for him, keeping him grounded, and teaching him a peace that helped him leave this world an enemy to no one.
Though Jerry drove tank trucks and was brought up finishing concrete like every other Lightfoot, he was most known for being a mechanic, and a damn good one. He was a diagnostic genius who could solve problems most couldn't. He loved to teach his kids, and never allowed them to think that there was anything they couldn't do. Lost tools were always the fault of the kids but would magically appear back in his hand without a word after a slight search of his pockets.
In the last years of his life, he occupied himself with creating The Dozer Show––where he gained a bit of a following––driving the back roads and going on walks with his best pal Dozer.
Jerry was proceeded in death by his dad, Jack and mother, Hazel, and his brother, Dave.
He is survived by girlfriend Sally, brothers, Jack and wife Vick, Ron and wife Deb, children, Brian, Buck and wife Jessica, Adam and wife Jamie, Paige, Carlolyn and husband Jordan, and his grandchildren, Cason, Braxton, Bryce, Ian, Kelsi, Bayli, Jonni, Whitlei and Maddelyn. And by Dozer, his loyal companion.
Visitation will be 2PM to 6PM Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater. Funeral service will be 11AM Monday, December 19, 2022, at Christian Union Church in Tryon with Terry Tharp officiating. Hucklebearers will be Brian Lightfoot, Buck Lightfoot, Adam Lightfoot, Cason Lightfoot, Braxton Lightfoot, Bryce Lightfoot, Ron Lightfoot, Jack Lightfoot, Shane Webb, Ian Lightfoot, Ronnie Lightfoot, and Jack E.
