Jimmy Travis Ayers Jr. 49, of Stillwater passed from this life on Saturday May 9, 2015 at his home. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater and a service celebrating his life will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Chapel at 5106 N. Washington in Stillwater.
Jimmy was born on July 21, 1965 in OKC, OK to Jimmy Travis Ayers Sr. and Sandra Jean Timanus. He attended school at Western Heights in OKC before finishing in Sulphur, Oklahoma. After high school, Jimmy moved back to Oklahoma City and met Tracy through mutual friends in 1984. From the time they met they were inseperatable , they share two boys Jimmy and Joshua but against the odds after many years they separated and Tracy moved back to Michigan. Jimmy tried to make trips back and forth to be with his boys as much as he could.
He was a jack of all trades and following high school he held various jobs, mainly in the construction industry. In his later years, he relocated to Stillwater to be near his family. He spent time working for his sisters nursery and landscaping company and most recently he was employed as a painting contractor.
Jimmy Ayers Jr. was a kind and loving man with a big heart. Although he had a few struggles in life, he never lost his ability to laugh. Jimmy had a great personality and people were drawn to him. He had a great sense of humor and lived to make other people smile. Jimmy loved fishing, spending time with his kids and grandparents . He also enjoyed spending time with his girlfriend Cheryl Mayfield, along with his friends at the Mission of Hope. Jimmy will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, Jimmy Ayers Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Sandra Hurst of Lindsay, OK. Two children: Jimmy Ayers III and wife Patricia and Joshua Ayers and wife Jennifer. Three grandchildren: Jimmy Travis Ayers IV, Annabelle Ayers, and Braxton Ayers. Four siblings: Tammy Russell and husband Jodie, Michelle McWhirter and husband Shon, Jennifer Samples and husband Johnny, Jason Burroughs and wife Joann. He is also survived by his Uncle Steve Timanus and wife Patty , Aunt Sharon Lamb and his girlfriend Cheryl Mayfield, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Jimmys name to the Mission of Hope in Stillwater.
