Jody was born on October 26, 1962 in Tahlequah, OK to Finnis and Irene Duck-Gonzalis. After graduation, he married the love of his life, Virgina Hartley, in Hominy, OK. They made their home in Eastern and Northern Oklahoma where Jody began his career as a woodworker. Jody was a member of the Cherry Tree Baptist Church in Stillwell, OK. He was an honest and hard worker who loved working with wood, pitching for his softball team, taking road trips, listening to music, and playing with his 5 dogs. There were two things that Jody valued most in this life, his proud Cherokee Tribal Heritage and his family, whom he loved very much. Jody is survived by his wife, Virginia, of the home. One step-daughter: Robin Jones, of Stillwater. One brother: Charles Bruce Gonzalis, of Oklahoma City. Three sisters: Sue Helen Bunch, of Stillwell, Patricia Ann Davis, of Cushing, and Lucille Strader, of Cushing. He was preceded in death by his father, his brother Kenneth Gonzalis, and two step-sons, Scott Lee Hartley and Michael Eugene Jones. He also loved his many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Condolences may be sent to the family via an online guest book at perrycares.com
