John Leon Lowry

John Leon Lowry a longtime resident of Glencoe, OK passed away at his home on September 29, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was 84. Arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
He was born August 29, 1932 in Enid, OK to John Henry & Hulda Beatrice (Baty) Lowry. He spent most of his younger life in Iowa before moving to Glencoe where he remained for the next 50 plus years until his passing.
John and Charlene Dickens were married October 7, 1961 in Ponca City, OK. They spent 51 wonderful years together until her passing in 2013.
Some of Johns hobbies included fishing, boating, motorcycles, ATVs, shooting guns, spending time with his family, and spoiling his grandchildren.
John is survived by his daughter, Shon Treat and husband Kevin of Glencoe, OK. Son; Terry Brooks and wife Mary of Oxford Junction, IA; four grandchildren, Shelbey Treat, Ashley Treat, Curtis Brooks, and Casey Brooks; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Charlene Dickens Lowry; parents, John and Hulda Lowry; son, John Henry Lowry; and one brother, Frank Lowry.
A Celebration of Johns life is scheduled for 6:30pm Friday, October 14, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Glencoe with Rev. Ralph Wangler officiating.
