John Robert Brandt

John Robert Brandt, Jr., 46, passed from this life on Sunday, March 24, 2013. His services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perry. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Grace Hill Cemetery.

John was born on June 7, 1966 in Fontana, CA to John Robert Brandt, Sr., and Ruthetta Covert Brandt. He was raised and graduated from Fontana High School in 1984. In 1991, John married the love of his life, Kim Cooper, in San Bernardino, CA. John and Kims lives were blessed with the birth of Saralynn in 1990. From 1998 to 2000, John provided campus security for the Fontana Unified School District and attended the P.O.S.T. Academy in Riverside, CA. In 1998, their son Robert was welcomed into the family. Their son, Cooper, was born in 2000 and they moved their family to Oklahoma that same year. John was employed with the Stillwater Police Department until 2001. John and Kim ran Kims Kids Family Childcare from their home until 2007. John then joined the Perry Police Department, and continued there until 2010 when he went to work with the Cimarron Casinos security department. John became a member of the Noble County Sheriffs Department in 2012 as a deputy sheriff.

John had the remarkable ability to fix anything. He was known for his booming voice, often described as his DJ voice. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his generosity, and his ability to get people to open up, which was useful in his law career. John was often found to be ornery and was truly a big kid at heart. He was very social, enjoyed camping, and nothing made him happier than spending time with his family. He prioritized time with his family and they truly were the center of his life. John was a caring husband, a loving father, a dedicated public servant, and a loyal friend. His presence will be missed, but his legacy of kindness and compassion will live on through the lives of his three children, as well as through the lives of everyone he touched.

John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Timon & Ruth Covert, Raymond & Velma Brandt. He is survived by his soul mate Kim Brandt, and their three children, Saralynn, Robert, and Cooper Brandt, all of Stillwater; his parents, Bob and Ruthetta Brandt, a sister Jeanine Davis, and nieces, Cara and Kirsti Davis, all of Highland, CA, as well as a large extended family and countless friends.
