Joseph Benjamin Roberts

Joseph Benjamin Roberts was born on February 9th, 1925 to Owen M. and Elender (Russell) Roberts in Wetumka, Oklahoma. He was united in marriage on January 16th, 1954 to Zeltha Mae Wilson in Reno, Nevada.
Joseph made his living as a painter and was employed by OSU and Langston University for over 30 years. He is remembered as being a very loving man who was a wonderful father and husband. His family and extended family were very important to him. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a very outdoor person. He was proud that he had served as a 1st Scout with the 7th Army in WWII. He also enjoyed woodworking in his spare time.
Joseph Roberts passed away on May 17th, 2006 at his home in Perkins, Oklahoma. He was 81 years old. He is survived by his wife, Zeltha Mae of the home; two sons, Bennie Ray Roberts of Perkins and Dennis and wife Lori Roberts of Perkins; one daughter, Ruth Britton and husband Dwayne of Perkins; one brother, O.M. Roberts of Ardmore; five sisters, Rosa Spann, Tabitha Eason, Inez Renfro, Alvena Dichman and Kathryn Williams, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Alfred, Hiram and Donald Roberts and one sister, Lettie McCroskey.
There will be a private family service at a later date.
