Joyce E. Johnson

Joyce E. Johnson, aged 79 of Stillwater, OK, died Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Brookdale Stillwater.

Joyce was born March 20, 1944 in Edmore, MI the daughter of Fred and Mary (Crawford) Buchholz. She graduated from Stanton High School and then attended dental assistant school in Grand Rapids. She married Richard Johnson on May 15, 1965 and went on to graduate from Montcalm Community College and Central Michigan University. Joyce was a member of the First Congregational Church of Stanton. She worked as an administrative assistant in the special education department of the Montcalm Area Intermediate School District office. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, baking pies, and keeping house. Surviving are her daughter, Christine (Kristopher Giles) of Stillwater, OK, sisters, Sharon Nielsen and Lois Garvey of Greenville, MI, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Edson Conroy; husband; brothers Laverne Buchholz, Otto (Marion) Buchholz, and Alvin (Patricia) Buchholz; brothers-in-law Bo Nielsen and Jim Garvey; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis and Orvilla Johnson; brother-in-law Harry (Pearl) Johnson; and sister-in-law Imogene (Robert) McConnell. A private memorial will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the First Congregational Church of Stanton, 305 N Camburn St, Stanton, MI 48888.
