Joyce Iva Grim

Joyce Iva Grim, 94, of Perry, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the Perry Green Valley Nursing Home. Graveside service will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, OK with Pastor Roger Dunn officiating. Visitation will be held at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Perry on Thursday, November 7, 2013 from 9 am to 8 pm. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perry. Joyce was born on June 11, 1919 in Red Rock, OK to James and Myrtle (Dillard) Willhelmns. Joyce was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Perry. She was baptized by Pastor Lange on October 2, 1967. She enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Senior Citizen in Perry with their activities and card groups. Joyce fell in love and married Loyd Grim on December 7, 1935. From this marriage they had three children: J.D., Louise, and LuElla. Joyce took care of her husband for 9 " years after he had a stroke. Joyce and Loyd celebrated 60 years of marriage which ended with the death of Loyd on December 12, 1995. Following her husband"s death she attended Calvary Baptist Church. Her greatest joy in life was raising her children and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family was very important to her. She did everything to support her children and grandchildren. She loved showing off pictures of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Joyce is survived by her son, J.D. Grim and wife, LaNese of Benton, AR; one daughter, Louise Johnson and husband, Tommy of Perry, OK; one son-in-law, Gene Davidson of Perry, OK; seven grandchildren, Janet Wilhelm and husband, Sid, Jerry Davidson and wife, Melanie, all of Perry, OK, Rick Johnson and wife, Kerri of Edmond, OK, Judy Yetter of Edmond, OK, Glenda Rogers and husband, Steve of Oklahoma City, OK, Lonnie Grim and Lori Huckaby, both of Benton, AR; twelve great grandchildren, Russell Caldwell, Haleigh Collins, Natalie Davidson, Christie Yetter, Heath Yetter, Rich Johnson, Merri Barden, Stephenie Willis, Taylor Grim, Graci Grim, London Huckaby, and Eden Huckaby; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Grim; parents, James and Myrtle (Dillard) Willhelmns; one daughter, LuElla Davidson; and two sisters, Arelia Garrett and Evelina Short.
