Kathrine E. Linn, 93, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perry and a visitation time for the family to greet friends at the funeral home will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 6pm to 8pm. Kathrine was born on March 8, 1922 on the family farm at Orlando, OK to John F. and Elizabeth Rose Irene (Bulling) Pfeiffer. She grew up in the area and attended Star School until attending Orlando in the 7th grade. Kathrine played basketball, was in band, and was crowned carnival queen for her freshman class, before graduating from Orlando High School with the Class of 1941. While she was in school, Kathrine worked on her family farm harvesting wheat, oats, running a thrashing machine and a bundling wagon. Kathrine was also heavily involved in Orlando 4-H and showing her Angus Steers. She showed the Grand Champion Steer at the Oklahoma State Fair in 1941. After school, Kathrine met the love of her life, H.A. "Cotton" Linn. They married on January 30, 1944 on a farm in Orlando, OK. Soon after their marriage, they moved to Ada, OK where Cotton took a job on a ranch. After the sale of the ranch, they relocated to Red Rock and began farming. Kathrine ran the tractor, baler, combine, trucks, and hay binder. She assisted her children in raising their animals for 4-H and FFA, she began raising chickens to provide the family with eggs and meat. They had a cow for milk, cream, and butter. Kathrine and Cotton were chosen Oklahoma Farm Family of the Year in 1960 at the State Fair of Oklahoma. Kathrine was very active in her local community. She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and for 50 years served with the Noble County Election Board as a clerk and a counter. She attended the Red Rock Christian Church for years until it disbanded then attended the Marland Methodist Christian Church. Kathrine"s true passion was for her family. She loved to smile and nothing made her happier than being around those she loved. She found great enjoyment in supporting her grandchildren and great grandchildren"s 4H events, plays, and sporting activities. She took great pride in the fact that 5 generations of her family have raised and shown Angus Cattle. She was a wonderful woman who will be missed by the many lives she touched during her remarkable 93 years of life. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, H.A. "Cotton" Linn; parents, John and Elizabeth Pfeiffer; three siblings, Marge Jeans, Jean Jelsma, John Henry Pfeiffer and special Uncle Fred Pfeiffer. Kathrine is survived by her children, John Aaron Linn and wife, Burdettya of Red Rock, and Patty Jo Luter and husband, Dannie of Morrison; five grandchildren: Jo Dawn Parrish and husband, Michael, Kremlin; D.J. Linn, Red Rock; Ryan Luter and wife, Marcy, Morrison; Dustin Luter and Regina Grimaldi, Edmond ; six great grandchildren: Taylor and Cash Parrish, Kelby and Payten Linn, Raegan and Rhett Luter; two sisters-in-law, Alline Pfeiffer, Orlando, and Pat Linn, Verden. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Encompass Home Health and Judith Karman Hospice, as well as to their many special friends from the community for the care, support and encouragement extended to Kathrine and her family over the past few weeks.
