Kathryn Lodiene Nickels

Kathryn Lodiene (Kirby) Nickels,90, of Stillwater passed from this life on June 4, 2012 at Stillwater Medical Center. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home and will be held at 1:30pm Friday, June 8th at the First United Methodist Church of Stillwater .
Lodiene was born to Frank and Loreen Kirby on January 22, 1922 in Perkins, OK. She married J.T. Mack Nickels on Christmas Eve in 1940. Mack and Lodiene were married for more than 60 years and had two sons. Lodiene was a Charter Member of the Lost Creek United Methodist Church, as well a current member of the First United Methodist Church of Stillwater. She was also a Life Member of the Ladies Auxillary to the VFW. In her free time she enjoyed quilting and decorating.
Kathryn Lodiene Nickels was preceded in death by her husband J.T. Mack Nickels in November 2002, her parents in 1975 and 1982, two sisters: Adella Blumer and Betty Hollinsworth, a brother: Doyle Kirby, and three infant brothers who passed prior to her birth.
She is survived by her two sons: Jerald Nickels and wife Irene and Kirby Lynn Nickels and wife Sandy, all of Perkins, OK. Three Grandsons: Corey Nickels and his wife Annette, Nathan Nickels and his wife Melissa, and Gary Whiteman Jr. and wife Rasheen. A granddaughter: Cassie Jones, and husband Mike. 15 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Two Brothers: Thomas Kirby and wife Nelda and James Kirby and wife Barbara. She is also survived by a good bunch of nieces and nephews (a VERY good bunch).
In leiu of flowers, the Nickels family would like donations to be made in Lodiene's name to The Storehouse Ministry at the First United Methodist Church of Stillwater.
