Funeral services for Katrina Mama K Brooks, age 56, of Stillwater, OK will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Norman Richmond officiating. There will be no graveside services. Services are under the direction of Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home.
Katrina was born January 29, 1952 in Cushing, OK to James and Wanda Martin. She grew up and attended schools in Cushing, moving with her family to California for a few years. She later returned to Oklahoma. She married Johnny K. Brooks on December 15, 1996 in Stillwater, OK. She was an excellent housekeeper and a remarkable wife. She and Johnny were soul mates, taking care of one another for 12 amazing years. She enjoyed going to garage sales and loved flowers. Even though she couldnt do the gardening herself, she enjoyed being outside with Johnny, as he had the green thumb. Katrina passed from this life and into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 20, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Wanda Martin.
She is survived by: her husband, Johnny of the home; one son, Robert Meadows of Stillwater, OK; three daughters, Mercy Martin of Stillwater, OK, Gina Ferrar of Cushing, OK, and Linda Marquez of Oklahoma City, OK; one brother, Gary Spurgin of Perkins, OK; two sisters, Cherry Miller of Perkins, OK and Brenda Molay of Perkins, OK; and eleven grandchildren, three of whom she helped raise: James Michael Martin, Brittany Martin, and Mikala Martin.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 24 from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday, June 25 from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Her family requests that memorial donations be made in Katrinas name to the Oklahoma Lupus Association or to help assist the family with funeral expenses c/o Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home.
