Kenneth Dean Short

Kenny Dean Short was born October 14th, 1963 to Merle and Laveta JoAnn (Doak) Short in McCook, Nebraska. He was employed in various fields during his life including Masonry, Oil Field Work, Construction and was most recently employed as a Security Guard at the Wind Star Casino. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed telling stories to others.
Kenny passed away on September 18th, 2006 at his home in Marietta, Oklahoma. He was 43 years of age. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Zelda and Alvin Short and Perry and Arietta Doak and his Father, Merle Short. He is survived by his Mother, JoAnn Pinkston and her Husband Dale of Cambridge, Neb.; two brothers, Rodger Short and wife Kathy of Glencoe, OK and Ricky Short of Morrison, OK.; one sister, Lona Gordon and husband James of Morrison, OK.; two daughters, Danni Harpham of Hastings, Neb and Laveta Short of Great Bend, KS.; one son, Cody Goodrich of the home and partner, Bobbi Jo Goodrich of Marietta, OK.; numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at the Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Roy Fleshman will be officiating. Musical selections will include Amazing Grace. The family has entrusted Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home with the arrangements.
