Kirby L. Brock Sr.

Kirby Leigh Brock, Sr. passed away Monday, November 25, 2019 at the Community Health Center in Wakita, Oklahoma at the age of 88. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
A Celebration of Kirby’s life will be held on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 2:30 PM at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater with Rev. Gary Lillie officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, December 1, 2019 from 1PM to 6PM at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater.
Kirby was born June 1, 1931 on the original homestead southeast of Stillwater to parents George and Alpha Brock. He was born during the Great Depression and learned to get by without luxuries and to work hard.
His childhood years were spent in the Stillwater rural area where the family operated the farm his Grandad staked during the land run. He married Norma Jean West on October 9, 1948 and they began a life together in Stillwater where they raised two sons, Kirby, Jr., and Jon. He enjoyed many years of farming, and working as a carpenter.
Kirby, Sr. was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Brock; a son, Kirby Brock, Jr.; sisters, Ellen Sumner and Marjorie Powell; brothers, George, Roy, Jon, and Phil. He is survived by a son, Jon Brock and wife MaryAnn of Medford, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Will Brock and wife Mindy of Mountain View, Oklahoma, and Teri Aldridge and husband Aaron of Orlando, Oklahoma; four great-grandsons, Cale and Luke Brock, and Lake and Brock Aldridge; one brother, Tom Brock of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law, Diane Brock; and many nieces and nephews.
