Kittie Sue Adams passed away peacefully at her home in Morrison on Monday surrounded by her family. She was 75. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
Kittie was born August 15, 1948 in Temple, Oklahoma to Loyd Hooper and Roxie (Blay) Hooper. At the young age of six, her family moved to the high mountains of Colorado, and at age 12 they moved to Buena Vista, Colorado while her dad worked in a mining camp. She had many fond memories in the Colorado mountains as a child.
When Kittie turned seventeen, she met the first love of her life, Butch Crowley, who was working on a big road job up on the mountain. They fell in love and were married on September 29, 1965. They were blessed with 49 years until Butch passed away from a stroke.
Kittie and Butch met The Brethren around 1971 and were baptized into the Church of the First Born in Fort Lipton, Colorado. Kittie’s faith was strong and she loved the Lord with all her heart. For many years after moving back to Oklahoma Kittie served as a midwife.
After Butch’s death, Kittie met Jody Retherford and they were married on August 29, 2015. Although they were not married long before Jody passed away, they had a great love and she gained an extended family that she loved very much.
Most recently, Kittie met and married Dennis Adams on July 3, 2020. They enjoyed many day trips together and camping in their motorhome. She also loved camping, hiking, going to yard sales, and shopping until she dropped. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis of the home; children, R.D. Crowley of Moore, Oklahoma, Robbie Crowley and wife Tina of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Randy Crowley of Cushing, Oklahoma; sister, June Jackson of Paradise, Texas; two brothers, Dale Hooper and wife Margaret of British Columbia, Canada, and Ronnie Hooper and wife Charlene of Julesburg, Colorado; nine grandchildren, Dylan Crowley, Alex Crowley, Bryce Crowley, Alyssa Canter, Zoe Crowley, Gabriella Adams, Tyler Crowley, Cody Crowley, and Kaylee Crowley; three great-grandchildren, Brecken, Frankie, and Nola.
