Laren Don Field, born on November 27, 1947, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, in his hometown. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of many with his kindness and jovial spirit.
Laren graduated from Ripley High School in 1966, furthering his education at Okmulgee-tech where he honed his skills as an Auto Mechanic and machinist in 1968. His dedication to his craft was evident in everything he did, earning him respect in his community and profession.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Laren had a deep passion for automobiles, particularly his beloved 1930 Model A Ford, which he enjoyed driving and sharing with friends. He had an appreciation for classic country music and could often be found in the evenings engrossed in his favorite tunes on Pandora, reminiscing or simply enjoying the melodies.
He was an active member of the Cimmaron Valley Church in Perkins, where he found joy and fellowship among his brothers and sisters in Christ. This sense of community and his unwavering faith were cornerstones of his life.
Laren leaves behind his loving wife, Diana Kelly, and his sons, Shawn E. Field and Jeried D. Field, Johnny Kelly and Edward Kelly. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Brogan and Leo Field, who brought him immense joy. Laren was proud of his close-knit family, which included his siblings, Gary and Jackie Field, Larry Field, and Dwight Field. He was a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews and will be missed by many extended family members who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Leo Field, who he cherished throughout his life. Their memories remained with him, guiding him as he navigated his own journey.
Laren Don Field’s legacy of love, dedication, and faith will forever be remembered by those who knew him. He will be missed dearly, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 11:00 A.M., at Sunset Memorial Garden Cemetery in Stillwater. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Mehan Union Church in Mehan, with Pastor Paul Dawson. Dighton Marler Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
