Lenna Wilson, long time Stillwater resident, Lenna passed away at her home late Monday afternoon after a long illness. Born in Kildare OK on September 16, 1935 to John A. and Anna D. Greenshields, grew up in Ponca City and graduated from Ponca City High School. She married Robert Gallagher of Ponca City in 1953, giving birth to her only child, Gary in 1954. She divorced in 1959 and began a teaching career in Tulsa Public Schools in 1960 and remarried to Linden Wilson in 1961 whom she remained married to until his death in 2015. In 1963 she and her husband moved to High Ridge MO outside of St. Louis where she taught until 1973 when she moved back to Stillwater. Leaving teaching, Lenna worked for Stillwater Parks and Recreation before taking a position as the Engineering Secretary at Central Rural Electric where she worked until retiring as the Member Services Representative in 1998.
Lenna was a talented and prolific artist in oils and oil pastels filling her home and those of friends and relatives with an abundance of her art. She graduated from Oklahoma State in 1959 majoring in art and elementary education and taught elementary art in both Tulsa and High Ridge MO schools in addition to being an elementary classroom instructor. Active as a youth, physically and mentally, she contented herself in later years watching the flora and fauna around her home with the onset of her long illness.
