Lenora Irene Decker

Lenora "Irene" Decker, 83, passed from this life unexpectedly on January 31, 2015 in Muskogee. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perkins and a service celebrating Irene's life will be held at 10am on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel at 304 N. Main in Perkins. Public visitation will be held at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Perkins from 12pm to 8pm on Tuesday, February 3, 2015.
Lela Lenora Irene Morlan was born on Feb. 13, 1931 in Watts, OK to Clarence Franklin Morlan and Lela Belle (Mefferd) Morlan. Irene grew up in Shawnee and when she was 16 yrs old she married Melvin Gene Gibson. In 1948, she gave birth to her daughter Lenora Ann Gibson. In 1956 she married the love of her life, James "Bill" Decker Sr. and two years late she welcomes her son, James "Jimmy" Decker Jr. into the family.
Irene spent the majority of her life working as a CNA in home healthcare and she touched many lives during her years of caring for others. Following her retirement in the mid 1980's, Irene and Bill relocated to Meridian, OK where she spent her time as a housewife and professional grandmother. Although she only had two children of her own, Irene raised many other children over her lifetime and her door was always open to anyone in need. Following Bill's passing in 1999, she moved to southern Oklahoma to be near her daughter.
Irene was very strong in her beliefs and wasn't afraid to share her opinion. She was a proud member of the Eastern Stars (Maud Chapter 57), the Disabled American Veterans Auxillary, and the Rebecca's Lodge. She enjoyed fishing gardening, sewing and a healthy glass of buttermilk. She was an independent woman who was as stubborn and ornery as she was generous and big hearted. She was a talented artist and you never left her house without something to eat. Nothing made Irene happier than spending time with her grandkids and she will be dearly missed by her entire family and her many friends.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Decker; son, Jimmy Decker; brother, Joe Morlan; and two infant sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Lenora Alldredge of Stigler; seven grandchildren, Toni Biggs, Brett Gibson, Patrick Alldredge, Chris Decker, Terisa Keilbarth, Jamie Decker, Katie Decker; fourteen great grandchildren, Thomas and Skyler Biggs, Kirsten McClatchey, Destinee Gibson, Chelsea, Zoey, and Nicole "Red" Keilbarth, Haylee, Blake, and Sydnee Campbell, Skylee Hastings, Justin Decker, Emily and Hunter Robinson; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other family members.
