Leon Brown

Leon M. Brown, 71, of Stillwater, OK passed away Sept 9, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 27 at6:00pm at the Victory Christian Church in Stillwater.
Leon was born on Dec 15, 1943 in Stillwater to Albert and Cora (Mitchell) Brown. He grew up and attended school in the Stillwater area. On Feb 21, 1969 he married Virginia Bloom. Leon and Virginia had two wonderful children Charlie and Bradley. Leon spent many years working as a firefighter. During his free time he began a successful career as a commercial contract painter. He traveled all over the country doing various commercial painting jobs. In Sept of 1988, Leon married the love of his life Noreen Gransbury. He gained five additional children: Duane, Brian, Lisa, Cindy, and Michael. Leon spent 20 + years working as self-employed water well driller before retiring.
Leon was a kind and generous man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and racing motorcycles and cars in his free time. He was very good at shooting pool and was a member of the BCA and the USAPL pool leagues.
Leon is survived by his wife Noreen of the home; seven children, Charlie Brown, Bradley Brown, Duane Puffer and wife, Silvia, Brian Puffer and wife, Becky, Lisa Puffer-Payne, Cindy Puffer, and Michael Oefelein and wife, Angie; a brother, Joe Brown and wife, Phyllis of Stillwater; a sister, Ruth Woolworth and husband, Wesley of Tennessee; a sister in law, Sallie Brown; brother in law, Laverne Bradley; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Paul Brown, and sister, Sarah Bradley.
