Leonard Lee Powell, 72 of Perry passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. A Celebration of Leonard’s life will be held at 11AM Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Green Pavilion at CCC Park. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Dighton Marler Funeral Home of Perry.
Leonard was born October 15, 1948 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Otis and Viola Powell. He grew up in Victorville, California and graduated from Victor Valley High in 1966. He then joined the United States Air Force the same year. He married Diane Beaman on June 28, 1988 in Perry, Oklahoma.
Leonard was incredibly devoted to his family, he loved to teach his grandchildren carpentry. He enjoyed fishing, camping, church, gatherings, loved to collect eagles and four wheeling in the hills of the Mojave desert. He was always doing good deeds. He never wanted anything in return. He never met a stranger.
He is survived by his children Jeremiah lee Powell and wife Sarah of Perry, Oklahoma, Beverly Harlow and husband Denham of Pawnee, Oklahoma, Mary Graves of Perry, Oklahoma. Two brothers: Billy Powell and wife Rosemary of Glens Ferry, Idaho, Wayne Powell and wife Connie of Perry, Oklahoma. Grandchildren Terry Allen Kukuk, Kenneth Dewayne Kukuk, Preston Scott Harlow. Five great grandchildren; Braxten, Bailey, Blane, Skyla, Lilee.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Powell; and his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association via Dighton Marler Funeral Home of Perry.
