Lillie Marie Fox age 91 of Stillwater went to her new home in Heaven, Wednesday evening, July 14, 2010 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Her funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater, Oklahoma and will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2010 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater with Pastor Mark Schardein officiating. Committal Prayers and Interment will follow at the Glenwood Cemetery south of Stillwater. Visitation for Mrs. Fox will be Sunday afternoon from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Mrs. Fox was born on July 5, 1919 in Coyle, Oklahoma and was the daughter of James and Carrie (Ellis) Whitmore. She grew up in Coyle and graduated from Coyle High School in 1937. She married Frank Hillhouse on July 5, 1941 and following their marriage they lived in Coyle and Perkins. She married Jack Fox in 1956. She moved to Stillwater in 1970 and went to work for Tinys Caf. She purchased it a year later. She also owned a restaurant in Sapulpa which was known as the Courthouse Grill. Lillie was affiliated with the Bible Alliance Church. She enjoyed traveling, working crossword puzzles and cooking holiday dinners for her family.
Lillie is survived by a daughter, Lois Osborn of Glencoe; one brother, John Whitmore and wife Beatrice of Coyle; one daughter-in-law, Judy Hillhouse of Wewoka; six grandchildren, Debbie Hampton and husband John, Mike Osborn, Steve Smith, Karen Odem, Leon Smith, Lori Hoffman; several great grandchildren including, Kyle Smith, Michelle Smith, Owen Osborn, Johathan Bransetter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Eugene Hillhouse, a daughter, Joyce Marie Smith; granddaughter-in-law, Peggy Osborn, brothers, LesterWhitmore and Frank Whitmore, sisters, Bertha Harshman, Lula Moore, Grace Watkins, Pearl Sherman and Jessie Lake.
Those who wish may make memorials to Judith Karmen Hospice of Stillwater in her memory.
There will be a dinner at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 19, 2010 for family and friends at the Moose Lodge at 3rd and Perkins Road in Stillwater.
