Linda Lee Lucas, 46, of Ripley passed from this life on Thursday, May 30, 2013 with her husband by her side. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home and will be held at 10am Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the Fellowship Free Will Baptist church in Stillwater. Visitation will be held from 10am to 8pm on Monday, June3.
Linda was born on July 17, 1966 to Calvin and Mary Lou (Lane) Probis in Phoenix, AZ. She grew up and attended schools in Phoenix before relocating to Stillwater. In 1985, Fred Lucas talked her in to getting married. Much to everyones amazement, Linda lovingly put up with Fred for 28 wonderful years and they had three wonderful children, Trisha in 1986, Teresa in 1991, and Mason in 1993.
Linda worked for several years at the Cimarron Correction Center in Cushing and at the OSU College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2004 she began driving a school bus for the Perkins-Tryon Public Schools and in 2007 she accepted a position as a home health aide at the Stillwater Group Home. Linda made many friends at Stillwater Group Home and she worked there until her illness forced her into early retirement.
When she was not working, Linda enjoyed playing shortstop for her softball team, riding horses, fishing, and eating with her friends and family at Mexico Joes. Linda was never happier than when she was surrounded by her family, especially her granddaughter Isabella Moffat. Linda was an ornery and stubborn woman who was generous and loved to be around children. She loved to laugh and enjoyed making others smile. Linda was a loving wife, a caring mother, a proud grandma, and a loyal friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Linda was preceded in death by her father and a sister Thelma Louise Aubrey.
She is survived by her husband Fred, of the home. Two daughters: Teresa Lucas of Perry and Trisha Moffat and husband Jake, of Stillwater. A son: Mason Lucas of Ripley. Her mother: Mary Lou Probis. 5 sisters: Connie Hall and husband Brian, of AZ. Kathy Huffman and husband David, of Stillwater. Georgie Madison of Stillwater. Carolyn Ramirez and husband Eddy, of Perry. Elizabeth Probis and Thomas Graham of Stillwater. A granddaughter: Isabella Moffat and another granddaughter, Cora Rose Moffat, on the way.
