Lloyd Ray Bowling

Lloyd Ray Bowling, 93, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023, in Stillwater, Ok. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, from 9am to 8pm with family greeting guests from 6-8pm at Dighton Marler Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at 2:00pm at Dighton Marler Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery.

Lloyd was born on September 20, 1929, in Hayward, Oklahoma to Perry and Alice (Hopkins) Bowling. He grew up in Hayward and attended Hayward Schools. He joined the United States Army in 1951.

Lloyd Bowling, known as Papa, he has had many other names, Dad, Colonel, Willie because of his braids he wore. Papa loved being in the pasture with his cattle and couldn’t wait until the new calves arrived. He also enjoyed the chickens and had Ricky on standby to shoot snakes that were stealing the eggs. Most of all he loved being with his kids and grandkids. Almost forgot, he loved his Church’s Chicken.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 9 siblings and 3 children Terry Lee, Ricky Bowling, and Tammy Davis.

He is survived by his children, Blane Bowling, Brenda Robinson, Danny and wife Darla Bowling, Alice and Tom Scarisbrick, Rita and Hal Lorenz, and Kerry Bowling and Jordan Massad. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
