Lloyd Thornton Moxley

Lloyd T. Moxley (Butch) was born July 26, 1940 to L.S. and Leah (Funderburk) Moxley. He went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 surrounded by loved ones.

Survivors include his wife Carolyn Moxley, son Jeff Moxley and his wife Tristen, daughter Angela Spicer and her husband Doug, son Tim Moxley and his wife Charity. Grand children Alli Kelly & her husband Jerad, Shasta Cobbs & her husband Bryce, Steven Moxley, Haiden Moxley & fiancée Morgan, Cade Moxley & fiancée Darcy, Holden Moxley, Reneé Moxley, Grace Moxley, Lainey Moxley, Ryder Moxley. Great grandchildren Jaelyn, Kynlee, Makynna, Josclyn, Sophie, Kylie, Thea, Talon, Carter, Camdyn and a host of nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters in law and many “adopted” grandchildren and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Lynn Moxley, mother-in-law, father-in-law, 3 brothers in law & 1 sister-in-law.

Viewing will be held May 15th 12 - 8pm and May 16th 1 - 6pm at Dighton-Marler Funeral home in Perry, OK, as well as May 17th 9-5pm and May 18th 9-7pm at Grace Memorial in Ponca City, OK.

Funeral services will be held at Ponca City Life Center, 1300 W. Grand at 10:30am, May 19, 2021. Graveside services will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood, OK at 3:30pm May 19, 2021.

Lloyd was born and raised in Wynnewood OK, where he graduated in 1958. He married the love of his life, Carolyn, on March 12, 1965 then joined the Army Reserves in March 1966 serving until November 1971. He volunteered with the fire department in Wynnewood for 20 years where he made many lifelong friends.

Lloyd had two other loves, other than his beloved wife Carolyn, the Oklahoma Sooners and the game of golf. He never missed an OU football game. No matter his location he would locate a TV and be plastered to it for the entirety of the game. Although football was his favorite if the Sooners were playing no matter the sport, he would be watching. He started playing golf at a very early age with his dad, L.S. They played regularly at the Pauls Valley golf course and each summer they traveled to Colorado to play in a tournament where he met and became lifelong friends with Larry and Janet Berridge and their family.

His biggest passion in life was his kids, grandkids & great grandkids. He would drop anything he had going to help any of them. He talked about all of them to anyone he could, up until his final moments. Especially excited and hoping to attend grandson’s Haiden & Cade’s upcoming weddings.

Lloyd was a talker and loved to visit with anyone willing to listen; this gained him many friends through the years and helped him excel in his career. He was in the steel business for 66 years total. He started out young with his father at the family business, Moxley Steel & Supply, for 42 of those years.

Lloyd was one of the most amazing men anyone had the pleasure of knowing. He strived every day to be the best son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend he possibly could. This world will never be the same without him in it. However, his legacy will live on with the large, amazing family he leaves behind.
