Louis Sauvie Jordan

September 16, 1933 — March 15, 2025

Stillwater, Oklahoma

Louis Sauvie Jordan, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, departed this world peacefully on Saturday, March 15, 2025, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 16, 1933, in Portland, Oregon to Naum and Marie (Sauvie) Jordan, Louis was a shining star in the lives of all who knew him.

Louis graduated from Washington High School in Portland in 1952, embracing life with an adventurous spirit. He joined the Army in 1953, proudly serving for three years and completing his commitment stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco. His subsequent career in the retail grocery industry and as a business owner (Cutting Board Delicatessen) spanned many years, marking his dedication and hard work, which undoubtedly influenced many in his community.

In October of 1958, Louis married the love of his life, Paula Elizabeth de la Cruz, in San Rafael, California. Together, they built a rich life in the Bay Area filled with laughter, love, and the joyous chaos that comes with raising a family. Louis and Paula's partnership was a testament to shared dreams and unwavering support for one another.

Louis often filled the room with his fun and witty personality. He had a remarkable gift of gab that drew people to him and made conversations enjoyable. His vibrant sense of humor and loving nature made him a cherished figure among friends and family alike. He loved to give everyone an "Egg" on top of their head! He took immense pride in his role as a father, believing his family to be his greatest accomplishment.

Louis enjoyed traveling, particularly driving up and down the West Coast with Paula to spend time at the ocean, where they revelled in the beauty of beaches and were inspired by the countless lighthouses dotting the coastline. A devoted sports fan, he passionately supported the 49ers and Giants, sharing his enthusiasm with anyone willing to engage.

He leaves behind a remarkable legacy through his beloved wife, Paula, and their children: Robert Jordan (Lauren) of Philadelphia, PA; David Jordan (Lydia) of Tucson, AZ; Philip Jordan (Theresa) of San Jose, CA; Michael Jordan (Sheila) of Brea, CA; Liz Jordan-Wettstein (Tim) of Stillwater, OK; and Rick Jordan (Christine) of Anderson, CA. He was a proud grandfather to nineteen grandchildren—Kelly Jordan, Craig Jordan (Jacqueline), Tatiana Jordan, Dominique Jordan, Mandy Schmid (Doug), Trevor Fine, Gabrielle Jordan (Jeff), Steven Jordan, Alyssa Jordan, Kristen Teicheira-Wojcik (Alex), Jeff Teicheira (Ashley), Michael Teicheira (Victoria), Jordan Teicheira, Darien Wettstein, Daulton Wettstein, Leila Strong (Tyler), Brennan Jordan, Tiffany Lesher (Caleb), and Samantha Primofiore (Justin)—who will forever remember their grandpa's lively stories and gentle guidance. Louis also found joy in the laughter of fourteen great-grandchildren—Austin Schmid, Skylar Schmid, Dominic Bausch, Clara Wojcik, Jayden Teicheira, Shyla Teicheira, Stetson Teicheira, Olivia Jordan, Luke Jordan, Emilia Jordan, Olivia Lesher, Peyton Primofiore, Hadley Primofiore, and Kevin Primofiore—who brought additional light to his life.

In addition to his immediate family, Louis is survived by his two sisters, Lillian Carney of Memphis, TN, and Norma Logan of Nevada, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Though he is preceded in death by his parents, Louis Jordan’s spirit will forever live on in the cherished memories he created with his loved ones.

As we gather to celebrate the life of Louis Sauvie Jordan, we remember a man whose kindness, laughter, and love have left an indelible mark on our hearts. His legacy of devotion to family and friends serves as a reminder of the joy found in every moment shared together.
