Lula Edna Tubbs

Lula Edna Mae Tubbs was born March 22, 1935 in Perkins, OK. to Charlie and Coretta Tubbs. She was the fourth child of five siblings. Lula attended Pawnee schools until she graduated. As a young mother, Lula moved to Perry where she made her life home. She worked numerous jobs for the City of Perry and Ditch Witch where she ended her work career. In her lifetime Lula enjoyed dancing, music, cooking, and doing puzzles. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lula made her journey home with God on January 9, 2009. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbert James Tubbs, and Leonard Charles Tubbs. One sister Grace Louise Garrett. She leaves to cherish her memory 8 children, Gary Carlos Tubbs Stillwater, OK., Marilyn Nadine Johnson, Perry, OK., Gwendolyn Faye Whitlock Wichita, KS., Linda Joyce Atkinson, Oklahoma City, OK., Richard Dennis Tubbs Oklahoma City, OK., Curtis Blair Swan Wichita, KS., Karla Sue Swan Perry, OK., Kendall Blake Swan Hodgens, OK., 2 Granddaughters: Nyree Atkinson Stillwater, OK., Jamielle Atkinson-Bowie Langston, OK., 3 grandsons Damion Atkinson Stillwater, OK., Garrick Clardy Stillwater, OK., and Jamaree Swan Perry, OK. And a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Lula Edna Mae Tubbs are scheduled for 11:00 am, Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the First Baptist Church Perry, OK with Rev. Elvin Mack Sr. officiating. Interment will be in the Pawnee Cemetery, Pawnee, OK. A memorial fund for Lula is set up with the First National Bank of Perry. Any flower donations can be sent to Perry Funeral Home.
