Luther Newt Lucas, a well-respected mechanic who had an unwavering passion for tractors, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born on March 2, 1954, in Floydada, Texas to William Newt and Ollie May (Collins) Lucas.
Luther was known for his exceptional skills and deep knowledge of the inner workings of tractors. His dedication to his craft truly set him apart during his many years in the profession. Beyond his successful career, Luther will be fondly remembered for the love he had for his family and friends. He cherished the moments spent in their company and always made sure to create lasting memories with them. His kind and caring nature shone through in all his interactions, earning him a reputation as a true family man.
In addition to his professional and personal life, Luther had a wide range of hobbies and interests that brought him immense joy. Whether it was fishing, gardening, farming, or hunting - Luther found solace and happiness in these activities. He was also actively involved in the Trinity Community Church, where he served on the board of directors. Luther's impact on those around him extended far and wide.
In addition to his surviving family – including his devoted wife, Janice Lucas; daughters, Tina Gooding (Buckley) of Blossom, TX, and Diana Ramirez (Robert) of Sulpher Springs, TX; son, William Newt Lucas (Earlene) of Haworth, OK; brother, W. C. Brooks (Barbara) of Powderly, TX; sister, Doris Barnhill (John) of Blossom, TX; five grandchildren, Abigail Wright (Cole), Madelyn Ervin (Dalton), Audrey Gooding, Weston Gooding, and Alyssa Lucas; great-grandson, Spencer Terrell; three step-children, David Arnn (Amber) of Lubbock, TX, Tangela Johnson (Chris) of Pampa, TX, and Nathan Arnn (Kim) of Amarillo, TX; five step-grandchildren, Larry Lovewell, Shabree Lovewell, Kade Arnn, Jadyn Arnn, and Alexis Arnn; two step-great-grandchildren, Abby Lovewell, and Braxton Lovewell; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. Luther is reunited again with his deceased parents; brother, William Crayton Lucas; and half-sister, Janette Moore.A .
The legacy left behind by Luther Newt Lucas will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
