Lynn Hunt

October 21, 1952 — January 17, 2025

Lucien, Oklahoma

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynn Hunt, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully at his home on January 17, 2025, at the age of 72.

Born in Perry, Lynn grew up on the Hunt family farm near Orlando and later moved to Lucien in 1973, where he made a lasting impact on his community.

On March 10, 1972, he married the love of his life, Denise Russell, at the church in Lucien. Together, they built a beautiful life, welcoming two children into the world. Lynn's legacy continues through his daughter, July Stanley and her husband Jory, and his son, Shane Hunt. He was a proud grandfather to Graysen and Taylor Stanley, who brought him immense joy.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Arletta and Lawrence Hunt, and siblings Leonard Hunt, Zack Hunt, Maxine Buffington, and David Hunt. He is survived by his living siblings Grace Zinck, Janet Harmon and spouse Coy, Bonnie Atwood, and Cherry Kelley and spouse Larry, who will cherish the memories they shared with him. Lynn also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members who will fondly remember him and carry on his legacy.

A dedicated member of his community, Lynn was a founding member of the Lucien Fire Department and served on the school board for the Covington-Douglas Schools for multiple terms. He was actively involved in Leadership Noble County and many other local organizations. Lynn dedicated nearly 40 years of his life to Ditch Witch, where he was a valued employee until his retirement.

After retiring, Lynn found great joy in farming, fishing, and hunting. He loved raising animals, particularly miniature horses, and often shared them with family and took them to visit nursing homes, spreading happiness to others. In a generous spirit, Lynn occasionally donated the proceeds from the sale of some of his miniature horses to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, reflecting his deep compassion for helping others. His passion for life was evident in everything he did, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Stillwater Medical Foundation (https://smc-foundation.org) designated to the Cancer Center, Karman Legacy Hospice, or St. Jude's in Lynn's honor.

We will forever cherish Lynn's warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. He leaves behind a legacy of community, family, and friendship that will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
