Margaret Sue Meredith Barnes

Margaret Sue Meredith Barnes, 81, was born June 10, 1943, in Crab Orchard, Kentucky, the daughter of Henry McKenney and Lora Margaret Denny McKinney. She was the youngest of 13 children.

She went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at her home in Morrison with her loved ones at her side.

On June 11, 2008 she married Billy P. Barnes in Norwalk, California. She attended Avon High School in Avon, Indiana. She worked as a waitress. She is the mother of one daughter, Melissa Sue Mendez, Perry. She loved sewing and quilting and spending time with her “grandboys.” She was a member of the Morrison United Methodist Church and “walking with the Lord” was a high value for her as well as her Irish ancestry.

She is survived by her husband Billy; daughter, Melissa; two grandsons: Noah Mather, Stillwater, Cimarron Caesar, Perry; one sister, Ruby Gibbs Williams, Noblesville, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Dighton-Marler Funeral Home. No public service has been planned.
