Marika Dickens was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma on March 26, 1990, to Ruby Dickens and Cedric Hagler. Marika attended school and graduated from Stillwater High School.
Marika accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She attended Sunday School, was a member of the Youth Department and sang in the choir. She also participated in various other church activities. Marika was a very proud and caring mom of her two children, Jamiere and Ja’Ziyah. She officially started her own business “Creatively Cleaned”. She was employed as a custodian and maintenance worker at the First United Methodist Church. Marika loved helping and protecting those who could not help themselves even if it meant a fight. She loved making people laugh and making sure they were having fun. She had a heart of gold.
Marika died on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at her home. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ella Mae and Joseph Dickens; paternal grandparents, Martha Lee Hagler and Billy Ray Boyd; very special cousins and friend, William Rivers, Robert Bennett, III, Stanley Linzy, Latasha Bolden and Neshele Roach.
Marika leaves to cherish her memory; two children, son, Jamiere Dickens-Smith and daughter Ja’Ziyah Dickens; her mom Ruby Dickens, Stillwater, OK; 1 brother Patrick Dickens, Stillwater, OK and two sisters, Shakinda Dickens, Oklahoma City, OK and Tanya Willis, Stillwater, OK; She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
