Mario Dwight Smith, Sr.

Mario Dwight Smith Sr., 45, of Ripley passed from this life on April 21, 2016. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
Mario was born on August 3, 1970 in Stillwater to Darroyl and Delores Faye Carter. He grew up and attended school in Stillwater. In 1996 he married the love of his life, Shana Ward. Mario spent his early years working as a auto detailer at several local car dealerships. He later opened Nasty Dog Kennels where he raised and bred pit bull terriers. Mario also owned his own landscaping company providing residential and commercial landscaping services all over Payne County.
Mario was an easy going man who lived life to the fullest. He was sarcastic, stubborn, and outspoken, but you always knew where you stood with him. He was a member of the Guthrie Masonic Lodge and he enjoyed fishing and watching basketball and football, especially Dallas Cowboy football. Above all else, Mario Smith Sr. was a family man. He loved his children and adored his grandchildren and he did whatever it took to keep his family together and happy. Mario made many great memories in his short 45 years of life and truly tried to get the most out of each day he lived. He was loved by many and will be remembered by all.
He was preceded in death by his father Darroyl Smith Sr. and his wife Shana Smith.
He is survived by his mother Faye Carter; step-mother Wanda Smith. Three children: Shantel King, Mario Smith Jr, Martesha Smith and fianc Tony Chapel. Six siblings: Martina Bowman, Toyia Smith, Aisha Smith, Nkema Smith, Darroyl Smith Jr. and Syreeta Brown. Four Grandchildren: Braydon, Shalyric, Harmoney, and Anthony. He is also survived by numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
