Marjorie “Kaye” Hamm passed away on February 23, 2024, at Legacy Village in Stillwater, OK where she resided the last two years. She was born on November 6, 1939, in Geary, Oklahoma, to Vincent D. and Stella Mae (Keely) Creveling. She attended Geary Public Schools and graduated from Geary High School. After graduation she married Ervin B. Abraham of Geary. They moved to Perry, Oklahoma in 1963 when Ervin was offered a job as a teacher at Perry Junior High School. They were married for 40 years and raised three children together. After Ervin’s death in 1998, Kaye married Carl B. Hamm. They were married for 10 years until his death in 2009.
Kaye was employed at the First Bank and Trust Company of Perry for many years. She was a Vice President of the bank when she retired. Kaye had a passion for service. She was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church of Perry where she served as Treasurer for 30 plus years. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women in Faith. Other organizations that Kaye belonged to were P.E.O. Chapter BH Perry and the Ladies Tuesday Afternoon Club. Some additional passions were cooking, shopping, and traveling.
Kaye is survived by her children, Debra Smith of Miami, Oklahoma; Valerie Villarreal of Mabank, Texas; and Vincent Abraham (Amy) of Perry; her grandchildren, Heather McCann (Scott) of Montgomery, Texas; Erin Smith of Louisville, Kentucky; Matthew Villarreal (Jessica) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Austin North (Adriana) of Ft. Myers, Florida; her great grandchildren, Mason McCann of Montgomery, Texas; and Sophia Rodriguez of Ft. Myers, Florida; her brother, Dwight Creveling (Jan) of Tulsa, OK; her sister-in-law, Mitzi Warstler (CL) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and other extended family members.
Kaye is preceded in death by her parents, Vincent, and Stella Creveling; her first husband, Ervin B. Abraham; her second husband, Carl B. Hamm; her brother Duane Creveling and his wife Patsy; her beloved aunt and namesake Marjorie Schwartz; and additional extended family members.
Services are being arranged by Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater/Perry. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 AM on March 1 at the First United Methodist Church of Perry. Officiating will be Pastor Matt Gary. A private burial will take place at Grace Hill Cemetery later in the day. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Perry or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
