Marjorie Louise Voise

May 31, 1922 — December 9, 2023

Marjorie Louise (Rupp) Voise, 101, of Perry, Oklahoma was born May 31, 1922, to Rudolph & Millie Rupp. She went to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 9th, 2023.

She married Arthur (Art) H. Voise on June 10th, 1941, at Zion Lutheran Church, East of Perry, who was soon called to active duty nine months later and then spent the next four years of her life without her new husband.

While waiting on his return she worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Stillwater and moved there to live with her cousins Sophie (Voise) Friedemann and Emma (Voise) Nida. She later was transferred to Perry to continue working and lived with her cousins Lorene (Beier) Loveless and Lillian (Friedemann) Jones. They lived behind the Betty Ann Bakery in Perry which was owned and operated by her Aunt Emma (Rupp) Johnson and her husband Oscar. Marjie did work for them when time permitted.

After Art returned home from the war, they both moved to what they called the Mollet place out in the country where their family and farm life began.

Marjie was a full-time homemaker, wife, and amazing mother, grandmother & great-grandmother.

She did her fair share of baking, which also consisted of baking almost any kind of pie one could think of. In her early years of marriage, she would be sure to fit in three meals a day with the last one always consisting of a meat, potato, and a vegetable, as the family rarely would eat out.

Marjie would sew just about anything and not only for her own family but for many extended family members. She also mastered the art of upholstering and would continue this for many years.

Marjie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and an active member of the ladies WELCA, formerly known as LCW, then later joined the church choir.

She was preceded in death by her father Rudolph Rupp, her mother Millie Rupp, her sister Dorothy Foster of Albuquerque, NM, her brothers A.H. “Sonny” Rupp and Donald Rupp, her son James Allen Voise, one grandchild Anthony (Scott) Voise and her beloved husband Arthur H. Voise, all of Perry, OK.

She is survived by her brother Clinton Rupp and his wife Carolyn of Guthrie; her son Larry Voise and his wife Suzanne of Perry, her son Ronald Voise and his wife Teresa of Edmond, and her daughter Linda Kroll and her husband Danny of Perry; as well as grandchildren: Kristi Voise of Oklahoma City, Tara Smith and her husband Nathan of Spring, TX, Sheila Stovall of Edmond, Nathan Voise and his wife Regan of Hot Springs, AR, Chandra Menendez and her husband Matt of Oklahoma City, Chelsea Price and her husband Brad of Edmond, Jonathan Kroll of Stillwater, and Hannah Briegge and her husband Devin of Edmond; her great-grandchildren: Pierce Voise, Boston Stovall, Lillian and Lelah Voise, Maximus and Maggie Briegge, Landree and Reed Smith, Madison Menendez, Owen Price, and baby boy Menendez arriving in March; and many nieces and nephews. She was deeply loved by all her family.
