Mark Leon Pittman, age 67, of Garfield, Arkansas entered heaven on Monday, January 15, 2024 in Rogers, Arkansas. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
Mark was born September 20, 1956 in Joplin, Missouri to Loren Leon and Wilma (Goodman) Pittman. He grew up in the Carl Junction area where he graduated high school in 1974. On July 14, 1979 he married the love of his life, Carla Moreland in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Mark dedicated nearly 4 decades of work in the industrial supply field. During his time in sales, his family had the opportunity to live in several different states across the country, which allowed them to grow together as a family. Mark and Carla settled in Stillwater, home to Mark’s beloved OSU Cowboys.
Some of the favorite memories Mark will leave with us is his love for Jesus. Mark had a special way to minister to hurting people and bring them hope. He enjoyed anything outdoors, especially the peaceful waters of Beaver Lake. He and Carla traveled frequently to Bluegrass festivals and camped with friends in their RVs. Nothing brought him more joy than attending his grandkids’ sporting events, piddling around on his tractor, and looking for hole-in-the-wall diners on motorcycle trips with Carla. His family and friends always loved gathering around to listen to Mark tell his famous stories. Mark will be greatly missed by many.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Carla Pittman; one daughter, Nicole Knox and husband Tim Knox of Yukon, Oklahoma; one son, Mark L. Pittman II, and wife Sarah of Stillwater, Oklahoma; sister, Marsha Ossowski and husband Bob of Cross Plains, Texas; brother, Michael Pittman and wife Kathy of Hendersonville, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Nathan Knox, Micah Knox, Abigail Knox, Judah Knox, Titus Knox, Emma Pittman, Hannah Pittman, and Aubree Pittman. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Mark’s life will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 2PM at Life Church in Stillwater with Pastor Tim Knox officiating. Pallbearers will be Nathan Knox, Micah Knox, Mark Pittman II, Tyler Winn, Michael Pittman, and Craig Randall. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater.
