Mary Elizabeth Paxton

Mary Elizabeth Paxton, 90, of Glencoe, OK, passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at her home. Funeral services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater, OK.
She was born June 29, 1926 in Bristow, OK, to Clarence A. and Mary N. (Kearns) Mitchell. As a little girl, Mary Beth attended White Hall School, a little one room school just north of Glencoe. She later attended Glencoe public schools where she graduated high school. On April 5, 1947, she and Ed Paxton were married in Guthrie, OK. They were blessed to have shared 69 wonderful years together.
Mary Beth was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking her favorite recipes for her family, sewing, quilting, making crafts for her children and grandchildren, and going to craft shows, but her family was the core of her life. She dearly loved being a mother and grandmother. Her favorite job was making her house a home.
She is survived by her husband Ed of the home; Two daughters, Janice Critchfield and husband Herb of Geary, OK, Lisa Watson and husband James of Tulsa, OK; one son, John Paxton and wife Terri of Bixby, OK; Eleven grandchildren, Chris McMillin and husband Kevin, Angela Paxton, Mandy Scott and husband Michael, Richard Watson and wife Mari, Beth Booth and husband Curtis, Michael Watson, Robert Critchfield, Charles Paxton and wife Tiffany, Johnny Paxton and wife Tyler, Andrew Paxton, and Katie Neafus and husband Tyler; Nine great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Kay Paxton; and four sisters-in-law, Maxine Mitchell, Mary Jane Mitchell, Gloria Mitchell, and Ilona Mitchell.
She was preceded in death by her son, Frank Paxton in 2009; parents; and five brothers, Raymond, Wilbur, Doyle, Laverne, and Dale.
