Mary Sue Jackson, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on October 23, 2024, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She was born on November 26, 1932, in Atkins, Arkansas, to Herman Austin and Wathia (Keener) Austin.

After graduating from Atkins High School, she moved with her family from Arkansas to Oklahoma City. She began a career with Southwestern Bell “The Phone Company” where she worked as an operator from 1950-1963. On March 22, 1963, she married Milton Jackson in Oklahoma City, OK. They moved to their ranch in Konawa, OK, where she resided for over 40 years. Their partnership was a testament to commitment and love, enriching the lives of all who knew them. Mary Sue prioritized creating a loving home and supported her husband in all the demanding work required of living on a small cattle ranch.

Mary Sue was a devoted member of the Church of Christ in Konawa and Bethany, where she demonstrated her faith through service and community involvement. She had a particular passion for supporting her local food pantry, embodying the spirit of giving and compassion. Her love for the scriptures was evident in her daily life, as she cherished reading her Bible. She engaged in activities like word searches to keep her mind sharp. She also enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right.

Mary Sue is survived by her two children, Angela Sue Jackson Amis and her husband Dave of Oklahoma City, OK, and Clay Jackson and his wife Jackie of Stillwater, OK. She was a proud grandmother to her four grandchildren, Austin Jackson, Hannah Jackson, Harrison Jackson, and Eden Jackson, who brought immense joy and pride to her life. Additionally, she is survived by her siblings, Joe Austin and his wife Gerry and Wanda Shirley.

Mary Sue is preceded in death by her parents Herman Austin and Wathia (Keener) Austin, brother Paul Gene Austin, brother Robert "Bob" Austin and her husband, Milton Jackson.

Visitation will be held at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater, OK, on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 1-2 PM Family, 2-4 PM Public. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, at New Bethel Cemetery in Byng, OK, starting at 1:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Mary Sue's life, reflecting on the many cherished memories she created with all who were fortunate enough to know her.  Funeral services for Mary Sue have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral of Stillwater.
