Mary Annette Turner, affectionately known as Ms. Annette, passed away on January 10, 2025, in Oklahoma City at the age of 70. Born on May 27, 1954, in Elyria, Ohio, Annette's life was marked by a profound dedication to education, service, and her family.

Annette's educational journey began at East Central High School, where she laid the foundation for her future endeavors. She continued her studies at Oklahoma State University, an institution that not only nurtured her academic aspirations but also led her to the love of her life, Robert Turner. Together, they cultivated a home filled with love, faith, and a steadfast commitment to family.

Throughout her career, Annette served the Stillwater Public Schools for 30 years, until her retirement due to medical complications stemming from an accident in 2015. Even after retiring, her dedication to education did not wane; she rejoiced in returning to part-time work at SMC, serving her community during the unparalleled challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Known for her unwavering spirit of service, Annette was involved in numerous organizations, always striving to assist others. Her friends and family fondly remember her not just for her nurturing support, but also as an enthusiastic fan of her favorite teams. Whether clad in her team's colors or sharing in spirited conversations about football, she exemplified a fervent passion for faith, family, friends, and the joy of sport.

Annette leaves behind her beloved husband, Robert Turner; her children Robert Turner (Kimmie) and Keysha Sanders (Joe); and her cherished grandchildren, Chablee DeGroot (Max), Julia Sanders (Grady Franklin), JaKobe Sanders (Maggie Glasgow), KyLynn Sanders, Keegan Bass, Kamryn Bass, and Khloe Bass. One special grandjoy Elias Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry James and Anna (Capers) Fenderson.

A Celebration of Life honoring Annette will take place on January 20, 2025, at Life Church in Stillwater, Oklahoma, beginning at 11:00 AM. All who had the pleasure of knowing her are warmly invited to join in commemorating the incredible legacy she leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the The Postpartum Plan that helps provide equitable resources to expecting families such as educational offerings, doula services, lactation support, social resources, diapers, car seats and playpens to families in need, c/o Exchange Bank and Trust Stillwater, Oklahoma.
