Maurice Virgil Grubb was born on Sept 2, 1938 in Lamont, OK to Arthur and Vera (McBride) Grubb. He was raised in Lamont and graduated from Lamont High School in 1956. In 1958, he relocated to Perry and began working for Kemnitz Oil and O'Halloran's filling station. In May of 1959, Maurice married the love of his life Sandra Hasenfratz at the First Christian Church in Perry. In the early 1960's he went to work for Charles Machine Works as an assemblyman, a job he loved for 42 years. He retired from Ditch Witch several times before retiring for good in 2012.
Maurice's life was built on a foundation of faith in Jesus Christ. He was a longtime member of the Full Gospel Businessmen's Association and has been a member of Perry Assembly of God since 1980. He sang in the choir and spent over two decades serving as a deacon on the church board. His life reflected the love of the Lord and Maurice always saw the best in people when others may have chosen to see the worst. He was a constant source of encouragement to those around him and he had a sincere love for all people.
He was a gentle and compassionate man who loved to sing. It was not uncommon to find him in the garage tinkering with a woodworking project or making birdhouse mailboxes while singing or loudly playing his gospel music cassettes. He also enjoyed working with Gary McNabb on his Model T, watching OU football, and spending time with his family. Maurice Grubb was a loyal husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a trustworthy friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
Maurice was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Mitzi Grubb, a brother Milton Grubb, a brother-in-law John Yeager, a mother-in-law Ethel Hasenfratz, a father-in-law Leo Hasenfratz, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his wife and best friend Sandra Grubb of the home, two sons: Michael Grubb and wife Lynn of Arlington, TX and John Grubb of Perry. He is also survived by a sister Velma Grubb Yeager of OKC, OK. Four grandsons: Colin Grubb, Brandon Grubb, Jared Grubb, Noah Shaffer and a great granddaughter Jaden Grubb.
The family requests that donations be made in Maurice's name to Perry Assembly of God, The American Cancer Society, or to Judith Karman Hospice in care of Palmer Marler funeral Home 203 Fir Street. Perry, OK 73077
