Max Shingleton

Max Shingleton age 84 of Stillwater passed away Monday evening, April 26, 2010 at the Grace Living Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma. His funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater and will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday morning, April 29, 2010 in the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater with Brother Joe Day officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon in the Jamison Cemetery at Meeker with full military honors.
Mr. Shingleton was born on February 2, 1926 in Stillwater, Oklahoma and was the son of Charles Oliver and Lola (Cochran) Shingleton. He grew up in Stillwater, graduated High School and attended College. He lived most of his life in Stillwater except for two years in California. He served in the Armed Guard Navy during World War II. On November 1, 1977, he was united in marriage to Pauline Jewel Quigley in Bristow, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on November 21, 2000. He worked for several different building contractors in Stillwater. He enjoyed fishing, cracking Pecans, playing dominoes, cutting the grass on his riding lawnmower, reading, and was a quick witted person. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Stillwater.
Max is survived by two daughters, Judy Crutchfield and husband Dave of Oklahoma City, Beverly Beran of Grapevine, Texas; three grandchildren, Sean Edmison, Shaye Hohner and Mike Dennis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one brother, one sister and a grandson, Justin.
The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
