Melissa Fay Bernal

Melissa Fay (Roy) Bernal, age 61, passed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 in Pawnee, OK. Melissa was born in Pawnee, Oklahoma on August 28, 1949 to Maurice Roy and Ailene Janis. She grew up and attended school in Ponca City, OK, later attending school in South Dakota. Melissa married Trinidad Bernal on December 25, 1980 in Safford, Arizona and then later made their home in Perry, OK. Their lives were blessed with four wonderful children. She was the backbone and the glue that held her family together through the hard times. Her time was devoted to loving them. As a homemaker Melissa loved being with her grandchildren and her family. She also enjoyed puzzles, video games, and card games. Her true passion was for the Lord, and it was evident in her life. She always had a very youthful and cheerful spirit and was truly loved by those who knew her. Carrying on her memory are: her husband Trinidad Bernal of Perry, OK, her children, Donovan Shangreaux and wife Debra of Blackwell, OK, Daniel Kuchera and wife Becky of Perry, OK, Melissa Fransisca Horton of Perry, OK, Karolina Fransisca Sara Parker and husband Michael of Perry, OK, and her four grandchildren and Her mother Ailene Janis (Greenback) of Pine Ridge, SD. She was preceded in death by her father Maurice Roy. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 17, 2010 in Perry, OK at the Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Ralph Yost and Brother Roger Dunn officiating. Interment will be at Grace Hill Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, 203 E. Fir, Perry, Oklahoma.
