Melody Dee Desparois (Poisel) joined Heavens Army on December 25, 2023. She was born on July 19, 1968, to Gary Lee and Liddie Verena Poisel in Phoenix, Arizona. She married Donald Ty Grotts on February 13, 1987, and had two children of the marriage Daniel Ty Grotts born June 19, 1988, and Verena Renea Grotts born December 8, 1989. They divorced in 2003 after which she met Reid Ira Desparois in 2008, the two were joined in marriage on August 23,2010.
Melody attended Amarillo Community College where she obtained her General Education Diploma in 1991. She accepted salvation on February 17, 2017, and rededicated her life to Jesus in 2023. She was baptized by Pastor John Chaffin on December 22, 2023. Melody had a zest for life and an adventurous spirit. She loved Jesus and her family. She was a proud and doating grandmother. She was proud of her country and loved unicorns.
Melody was proceeded in death by her husband Reid Ira Desparois, her former husband Donald Ty Grotts, her father Gary Lee Poisel, her stepfather Robert Eugene Long, brother Jason Lee Poisel, and stepson Reid Joseph Wellman. She is survived by her mother Liddie Verena Poisel, her son Daniel Ty Grott and wife Alexis, daughter Verena Renea Grotts and mate Steven Lee Pyeatt, stepdaughter Judith Ann Morse and husband Brandon, stepson Ronnie Lee Wellman and mate Carmen Wisener, grandchildren William Arthur Hancock, Skyler Ty Lee Pyeatt, Zoe Lynn Grotts, Kara Leann Morse, Lexi Nichole Grotts, Christopher James Ty Grotts, and Logan Grotts, sister Melissa Fawn Clevenger and husband Walter, brother Gary Lee Poisel, brother Jesse Dewayne Poisel, brother Kenneth Charles Poisel, brother James Jacob Poisel and wife Cassie, brother Bobby Glenn Long, multiple step grandchildren, 13 nieces and nephews, various great and great-great nieces and nephews, as well as a multitude of extended family and friends.
Melody brought a smile to those around her and had a great heart of giving. She spent a vast amount of her time with her grandsons Billy and Skyler and her daughter Renea. She enjoyed good food and friends and meeting with a group of ladies for girls’ day out as often as possible. She loved music and being surrounded by those she cherished.
