Michael Dunlay, 55, passed from this life on June 23, 2015 at his home in Perkins. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perkins. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on July 2, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Perkins, OK.
He was born in Bonne Terre, MO. and grew up in Stillwater OK, moving to Huron, SD in 1971 with his parents. He graduated Huron High School in 1977, where he was active in wrestling and music. While attending Huron College, he played trumpet in the Huron College Jazz band.
He was a proud soldier, and disabled veteran serving 17yrs in the US ARMY, achieving the rank of Sergeant 1st Class and commanding a Bradley tank in Operation Desert Storm.
He had a passion for collecting coins, jewelry, and gemstones. He had a strong sense of self, and deep love for his family.
He is survived by his parents Dennis and Jan Dunlay, of the home ; brother, Rev. Jonathan Dennis and wife Suny of Tacoma, Washington; brother, Derin Dunlay and wife Kandi of Amarillo, Texas; daughter, Chelsea Ford and husband Kris of Minnesota; son, Travis Dunlay of Perkins; daughter, Tiffany Dunlay of Cushing; aunts, Gayle Austin of Stillwater and Patti Wiley of Ponca City as well as multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.
