Nancy Longmore Horn

May 27, 1950 — November 26, 2012

Nancy Longmore Horn died Monday, November 26th at her home in Stillwater, after a 5 year battle with ovarian cancer. She was 62 years old.
Nancy was born in Sacred Heart Hospital in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Alice Marie Lundquist Longmore and Morley Wilson Longmore, Sr. She was a graduate of Skyline High School in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana.
Over the course of her life, her employments included the Atomic Energy Commission in Idaho; teaching High School in Bozeman, Montana; the FBI in Washington, D.C. and Denver, Colorado, where she met her husband-to-be Jim in 1974; the Federal Trade Commission in Denver; a law firm in Denver; Germana Community College in Spotsylvania County, Virginia; and finally, a psychologist's office in Stillwater.
Her family was her primary focus and joy, and times spent with them were the best of her life. After her marriage to Jim in 1978, they were blessed with the birth of sons Jason and Justin.
Nancy was a member of Job's Daughters and Eastern Star in Idaho Falls. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church, and served as president of the Christian Women's Club for several years.
Nancy dealt with her disease with an approach that inspired all who know her. She never gave in to her illness, but continued to live life to the fullest, including extensive traveling with Jim in their recreational vehicle the last few years of her life. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed taking several continuing education classes at OSU. Upon moving to Stillwater in 1994, she also immediately became an avid OSU Cowboy fan, attending many games of a number of different sports.
She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a kind and loving mother and grandmother, and a true friend to many. Everyone who knew her was struck by her kindness and generosity, and her positive and optimistic outlook on life.
She is survived by her husband, Jim, of Stillwater; her son Jason and his wife Jessica, and their children Jonathan and Elise, of Santa Rosa, California; her son Justin and his wife Anna, of Madison, Wisconsin; her brother Morley Longmore of Las Vegas, Nevada; and her niece Candice Longmore of Ione, California.
