Norma Lee Neff, 75, of Maramec, OK passed away on Monday, February 8, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. Arrangements are under the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Glencoe South Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 8:00am to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
Norma was born on September 1, 1940 in West Point, OK to Helen (Rushmore) and Lester Hrabe. She grew up in the area and attended school in Glencoe. She graduated from Glencoe High School in 1958. After high school, she attended Drone Business College to further her education.
Norma met Larry Neff and knew this was the man she was going to spend the rest of her life with. They married on May 28, 1961 in Stillwater and this last year celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. They had two children, Laurie (Neff) Clark and Brett Neff.
Norma worked at CREC in Stillwater and later joined the Oklahoma Department of Human Services as a social worker. She proudly worked there for 30 years before retiring.
Norma had many outdoor hobbies. She enjoyed gardening and working with her horses or attending horse races. She was a farm girl at heart and she loved being outside. She also loved spending time with her husband, kids, and grandkids. She made sure they were taken care of. Norma was also known to many as being brutally honest and blunt, but meant it with all the love in her heart.
Norma was a loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Les Hrabe and one sister, Sue Focht.
Norma is survived by her husband of 54 years, Larry Neff; two children, Laurie Clark and husband, Tim and Brett Neff and wife, Lisa; two siblings, Shirley Watkins and Judy Ramsey; five grandchildren, Chelsey Clark, Kaylee Neff, Lindsey Neff, Joseph Neff, and Jesse Neff.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Normas name to Rose Rock Hospice, in care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. 5106 N. Washington Stillwater, OK 74075
