Novella Blanche Steward

Novella Blanche Steward, 96, of Stillwater, passed peacefully from this life on May 4, 2013 with her loving family by her side. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home and a service celebrating Novellas life will be held at a later date.
Novella was born on April 7, 1917 in the rural community of Meridian, OK to John Giddeon and Laura Armittie (Jennings) Anderson. She grew up and attended schools in Meridian, graduating from Meridian High School in 1935.
Following her graduation, Novella enrolled at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK. It was at SWOSU where she met the love of her life, Paul Miller Steward and they married in June of 1936 in Erick, OK.
She loved to knit, sew, read books, play cards, and cook. She was a member of the Quail
Country Quilters in Cottonwood, AZ. Novella was very social and found it easy to make new friends. She was independent, generous, and loved to spend time with her family. Novella made many wonderful friends and memories in her 96 years of life, she will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and several siblings. She is survived by her children: Paulette Kraybill of Stillwater, OK. Larry Steward and wife Hershey, of McMinnville, OR. Melanie Lavallee and husband Lionel, of Placerville, CA. Scott Seward and wife Martha, of Novato, CA. and John Steward of East Sound, WA. She is also survived by a brother Wade Anderson, 9 grandchildren,
and 16 great grandchildren. Surviving Stillwater grandchildren are Todd and Sheila Kraybill and family, Kelly and Steve Brown and family.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Novellas name to Good Shepherd Hospice in care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home 5106 N. Washington, Stillwater, OK 74075
