Patricia Ann Bickell, 70, of Perkins passed from this life on May 23, 2015 with her loving family by her side. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home and a service celebrating her life will be held at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 10:00am. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 8:00am to 8:00pm
Patricia Ann Wilson was born on November 3, 1944 in Oilton, OK to Richard Lee and Nona Marie (Green) Wilson. She was raised in the Drumright area before moving to Perkins, where she graduated from Perkins High School in 1963. Later that year, Pat married George Thomas Bickell. Soon after, Pat and GT welcomed the birth of their daughter Sharyl. After several years of marriage, they later divorced.
Pat worked at Katz Department Store, Vassar Manufacturing, and as a secretary for Ed Pryor CPA. Pat accepted a position with Legal Aid of Western Oklahoma, a job she enjoyed for nearly 20 years. In 2000, Pat opened Etcetera! Trophy. She had locations in both Cushing and Perkins and found joy in being able to express her artistic and creative talents by crafting trophies and plaques for fellow citizens.
Pat believed strongly in volunteering her time and resources to her local community. She was a member of the Cushing and Perkins Chamber of Commerce, Perkins High School Alumni Board, Perkins Main Street and the Red Hat Society. She was a longtime member of the Cimarron Starlight Cruisers car club and she spent countless hours volunteering for the Perkins Territorial Plaza. When she was not working or donating her time, Pat enjoyed spending time with friends, taking beautiful photographs, and listening to music.
Pats belief in Christ was the cornerstone of her life and she has been a member of the First Church of God in Cushing for the past 13 years. Pat was an independent and organized woman who wasnt afraid to be the boss. She was a meticulous and well organized businesswoman with a tenacious drive to succeed. Pat Bickell was a loving mother, a caring sister, a proud grandma, and a loyal and trusted friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother John Henry Wilson, two infant granddaughters Rachel Elizabeth Pickens and Caroline Faith Pickens.
She is survived by her daughter Sharyl Pickens and husband Brent, of Oklahoma City. Three siblings: Richard Wilson and Lela Walker of Stillwater, Mary Jane Bales and husband Otis of Stillwater, and Janice Johnson and husband Mike of Perkins. Three grandchildren: Westin Rebecca Pickens Younger and husband Geno of Yukon, Colt Hunter Pickens of Edmond, and Will Thomas Pickens of Edmond. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Pats name to the First Church of God in Cushing or the Perkins Territorial Plaza, in care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, 5106 N. Washington. Stillwater, OK 74075
