Patricia Louise Garich

Patricia Louise Garich, 90, of Ponca City passed from this life into her eternal home on September 8, 2021, at her home. Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater has been entrusted with her final care.

Patricia was born in Ark City, Kansas to Lester and Mildred (Elliott) McMahan and grew up in the Kay County area, graduating from Blackwell High School before attending nursing school. She married WR (Bob) Garich on New Year’s day in 1949 at the Cathedral of Santa Barbara where he was stationed in the US Navy. To this union her two children, Robert Lee Garich and Kathy B Tyndall were added.

She spent 10 years working as a LPN and enjoyed doll collecting. She became well known for her skills in creating porcelain dolls and later taught classes and became a doll judge. She also worked at Robert’s Clothing Manufacturing, the East Junior High School Cafeteria, and Ben Franklin’s 5 and Dime Variety Store in Ponca City.

Patricia was preceded in death by her father Lester McMahan and mother Mildred Bellinghausen, her brother L.J. McMahan and wife Margie, her son-in-law Claremore Tyndall and her son Robert Lee Garich. She is Survived by her daughter Kathy B. Tyndall. Nephew Don West, stepsister Mary Gorrell. Grandchildren Steven R. Tyndall, Marcy Lynn Garich, Brodie Dale Garich , special grandchild Daxton Crowell, her beloved care giver Kristi Bennett and numerous great grandchildren. There will be no services per her request.
