Paul Ray was born on July 26, 1943 to Raymond and Edna Mae (Price) Forman in Ponca City, OK. He grew up and attended schools in Orlando, OK and following high school, he enlisted in the United Sates Army. After 3 years of service, most of which was overseas, Paul Ray was honorably discharged and returned to Oklahoma. He married Cheryl Dowell and they had three children: Deidra, Damon, and Darren. Paul Ray worked for Bon Ray Drilling company for 8 years before becoming a successful animal and fur trapper, as well as a scrap metal recycler. In 2001, he began a loving 12 year partnership with Cookie Manning, a friend he had known most of his life. This relationship provided Paul with two additional children, Tim and Lisa Manning, and he accepted them as if they were his own children. Paul Ray was an avid hunter, trapper, and fisherman. He holds a Master Angler Award having caught the state"s largest shovel-nose sturgeon at 2lbs 15Oz and 29 inches long. He also caught the largest know flathead catfish to come out of Lake Carl Blackwell at just over 72lbs. He was a state certified trapper and took great pride in being one of a very few trappers to hold this designation. Paul Ray also enjoyed camping at the river, drinking coffee each morning at Sooner"s Corner, hauling cars, torch work, going to the casino, and most importantly, spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter Corisa Marie Edgar. Paul Ray was an ornery man who loved to make people smile. He had a positive outlook on life and even though he saw his share of tragedy, he always made the best of any situation. He had a generous and unselfish demeanor and he never met a stranger. Paul Ray Forman loved having a good time. He had a big heart and always believed in second chances. He was a good man and a loyal friend and he will be missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, his two sons Darren and Damon Forman, and a grandson Dillon Forman. He is survived by: a daughter Deidra Forman. His partner and best friend Cookie Manning. Two step-children: Tim and Lisa Manning. Two grandchildren: Cody Edgar and Corisa Marie Edgar. A brother: Mark Forman. A sister: Connie Prather. Two special cousins: Mary Ruth and Carol Ann.
